Privacy
This policy describes how I handle information when you visit openskies.photos. I operate OpenSkies as an individual. I do not offer user accounts, newsletters, or forms that collect personal data on the site.
Who is responsible
I’m responsible for data processing on this site. For privacy questions, contact me at hi@svenfinger.co. See all contact details on the imprint page.
What I process
When you open pages or download photos, my hosting and content delivery providers process technical data needed to deliver the site, such as your IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of access. This happens automatically in the server and CDN logs.
I do not ask you to register, and I do not knowingly collect names, email addresses, or other information you enter on OpenSkies, because the site does not provide those features.
Hosting and CDN
This website is hosted on Cloudflare. Photos are stored and delivered via Cloudflare at cdn.openskies.photos. Cloudflare processes technical data as my processor to provide hosting, security, and delivery. For more information, see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
I do not use analytics or advertising cookies on OpenSkies. The gallery may update the page URL in your browser (for example when you filter by color or open a photo) without storing a profile about you.
Cloudflare or your browser may set strictly necessary cookies or use local storage for security or basic operation of the network; I do not use these to track you across other websites.
Why I process data
I rely on my legitimate interest in operating a stable, secure public website and delivering the photos you request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting me; I will weigh your interests against mine.
How long I keep data
Access logs at my providers are kept only as long as needed for operations, security, and troubleshooting, according to their retention practices, then deleted or aggregated.
Transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare may process data in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply as described by Cloudflare.
Your rights
If GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or restrict processing of personal data I hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to data portability where applicable. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Germany, you can contact the authority responsible for your place of residence; for Hamburg, that is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
Changes
I may update this policy when the site or legal requirements change. The current version is always published on this page.
